What this video covers

Accessibility (often shortened to a11y) means designing products so that people with the full range of abilities - including disabilities of vision, hearing, motor control and cognition - can perceive, operate and understand them. The WCAG standard frames it as four principles, POUR: content must be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable and Robust, for everyone, not just the able-bodied "average" user.

Step through POUR and accessibility stops being a vague obligation and becomes four concrete things to get right: can people perceive it, operate it, understand it, and will it work with their assistive tech? Miss any one and you lock real people out. Built in from the start it's manageable and benefits everyone (the curb-cut effect); bolted on at the end it's a costly scramble. Accessible by default.
